We are living in interesting times. The political and social landscape is changing around us. People are looking for direction and security in all sorts of places.
Jesus talked about these times when your foundation is on sand and can quickly shift without warning, as opposed to the rock that stays solid and immoveable. Psalm 27:5 tells us, ‘in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.’ There is a rock that is our foundation for life. You don’t have to go looking for other things like the approval of a person or a philosophy that offers peace but delivers confusion.
I met a young woman in Syria who had committed her life to Christ, but had been looking to eastern religious meditation for peace. However, what she received was more confusion. After a time of prayer, she was able to settle in her heart and found the peace of Christ that answered her inner need. She put her feet on the rock.
Stay on the Rock and let the Word of God be your place of security.
Have a great week,
Pastor Dan Parker
